Construction Specialist, BCL Groundworks, has established a new group structure as it welcomes Sam Johnson as a co-director to continue the businesses’ success in the sector.
The existing directors turned to Broomhead & Saul in Taunton to facilitate the transaction, working alongside Thomas Westcott Chartered Accountants, in Honiton. The transaction was led by Broomhead & Saul’s head of corporate, Richard James, supported by other members of the South West firm’s commercial team.
Since being founded 12 years ago, BCL has built itself a reputation for providing a professional quality service to successfully complete a range of groundworks and civil engineering projects, valued at up to £6m.
As an accredited firm with the Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme (CHAS) and members of the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) and Constructionline, BCL is presently recruiting for a number of new positions, due to the needs of existing projects.
Director, Sam Johnson commented on the invaluable support provided by Broomhead & Saul’s commercial team, saying, “Being a new experience for all involved at BCL, we were pleased with how the transaction proceeded and how Richard was able to talk us through each stage in a straight-forward fashion, avoiding legalese where possible! We felt that we were able to ask any questions we wanted and Richard took the time to explain each aspect in detail, so that the transaction reflected what we as a business were looking to achieve and importantly so that we were clear and happy with everything before proceeding.”
Although based in Bridgwater, the business operates across the South West region and is proud of the many positive relationships that it enjoys with leading main contractors and housebuilders including ISG, Midas Group, Mi-Space UK, Morgan Sindall, Beard Construction, Halsall Construction, City and Country and Galliford Try.
